ABOUT
Project: "33 Years of Adventure" – A cinematic anniversary montage for Tucan Travel.
Brief: To create a celebratory video retrospective marking the company's 33rd anniversary. The montage needed to visually narrate the timeline of the business, bridging the gap between its humble beginnings and its current status as a global travel leader, while showcasing the diversity of destinations offered.
Approach: I began the journey with 2D character animation, bringing the mascot to life from a hatching egg to symbolize the brand's origin. For the early years, I utilized post-production techniques to apply VHS-style distortion, scratches, and glitch effects to archive footage, creating a nostalgic timeline that jumps through the decades. The narrative then shifts to high-energy, vibrant color grading, using dynamic panning and rotational transitions to whisk the viewer through locations like Cambodia, the Amazon, and the African savanna. The journey culminates with the iconic yellow truck driving into the sunset, fading into a branded finale where the mascot returns to perch beneath the logo.
Result: A cohesive and emotive visual story that celebrates three decades of exploration. The piece successfully balances nostalgia with modern dynamism, leaving viewers with a strong sense of the brand's heritage and global impact.
