ABOUT

D-composed is a hybrid collectible furniture piece conceived as a sculptural side table. The object juxtaposes a reclaimed European neo-classical core with a minimal outer shell crafted from charred wood, treated using the Japanese technique of Yakisugi and finished in veneer.
Fragments of historical furniture are carefully deconstructed and reassembled, allowing classical ornament to emerge from within a restrained contemporary form. The contrast between the burnt surface and the preserved interior reveals a dialogue between past and present.
Through this process of transformation, D-composed reinterprets heritage objects, giving new life to discarded elements while exposing the layered histories embedded within them.
