ABOUT

This project has been Solace’s first emergency campaign and the most successful campaign in the history of the charity raising over £1m for domestic abuse survivors.

Across platforms the main campaign video had more than 2,000,000 views and over 11,000,000 impressions on Twitter, as well as over 2,000 views on Instagram with the others also receiving hundreds of thousands of views, likes, comments and retweets.

The Crisis Accommodation Project helped more than 94 women and 30 children who fled with nowhere else to go, on top of our 200 women in refuges.

How we did it:
We had 20 Solace staff, 5 domestic abuse survivors, 4 of whom had fled during lockdown, as well as 3 actresses working across the project all working remotely. Filming was completed remotely and via video link and during the peak of lockdown stock footage was used to bring the stories of women who were trapped to life.

What the client said:
‘This project has catapulted us into the public sphere to be recognised as a core charity delivering life changing services. Thanks to this campaign we will be able to build our profile throughout 2020 and continue to change the lives of survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.’ Jessie Gane, Solace Women’s Aid.

This is the main campaign film. If you'd like to see the others in the series you can see them on the Roll Nine website.
