ABOUT

An ongoing series of hand illustrated city maps celebrating the history and culture of the places Barton Willmore calls home.

Beginning in Reading to celebrate the move to The Blade in the city centre, our graphic design team has now expanded the illustrated map series to Bristol, Manchester and Cambridge, with more cities in the pipeline. Taking up to a year each to produce, the hand illustrated maps focus on the rich cultural histories of the cities that Barton Willmore is in the heart of; looking beyond the obvious landmarks and into the unique stories and characters that make the places what they are.

Although originally intended as office art, prints of the maps are now on sale in various outlets in Reading, Bristol and Manchester and have sold hundreds of copies with all proceeds going to charity. Interest in the maps has been huge, leading to press coverage and inclusion in books and exposure at public events. Through events such as charity auctions, combined with shop sales, the maps have raised more than £5,000 for charity.
