ABOUT
The Client
Leicester City Council’s Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles! is a dedicated public health initiative aimed at improving oral health outcomes for children through supervised toothbrushing programmes.
The Brief
With childhood tooth decay reaching critical levels, the Council needed a high-engagement tool to increase programme participation. The goal was to move away from dry, clinical advice and create a fun, catchy animated song that doubles as a real-time, two-minute toothbrushing timer.
The Creative Approach
We believe important information sticks best when it feels like play. Working closely with public health experts, we developed a cast of friendly animal characters designed to resonate with the under-5 demographic.
Key Features:
Synchronised Motion: We brought the Snazzy Badgers’ rhythmic track to life, using character movements to pace children through the correct brushing routine.
Real-Time UX: A visual countdown remains on-screen throughout, ensuring the animation functions as a practical utility for the full 120 seconds.
Multilingual Scalability: To reach diverse communities, we engineered a modular end-section for key health messages, allowing for rapid swaps of multilingual translations.
The Collaboration
This project was part of a holistic toolkit. While we handled the animation, we collaborated with Rendah Films (Live Action) to show the animation being used in real-world classroom settings. The campaign has since been featured on Healthwatch and received high praise from educators and families for its effectiveness in turning a daily chore into a highlight of the day.
