ABOUT
The first project of my final year of university was to work with the Department of Parliamentary Archives of the Houses of Parliament, tol produce contemporary graphic design interpretations of diverse archival materials . Communicating through one of three historical acts of Parliament, and I chosen to do the Sexual Offences act of 1967.
To mark the 50 year anniversary of the act, I wanted to design something to celebrate how far we have come from when the first act was set in 1967. From my research, I interpretated the act through music so I designed and screenprinted a album cover. Also with this album cover, I designed a typeface for the album representing the psychedelic style of the 60s/70s.
The album cover is inspired by previously mentioned the pyschedelic style of the 60s/70s. Inside the cover includes a timeline of key dates since 1967 and a song is picked to represent each of those dates.
