About me

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing because I would like to be considered for the position of Junior Web Copywriter within your company.

I graduated from film school in Cape Town in 2012, earning a BA in Motion Picture Medium, my focus subjects being Screenwriting, Directing and Music Composition.

Whilst I was studying I completed an internship with a London based film company and as soon as I graduated I managed to procure an internship with a production company in Dubai as a Production Assistant, helping on a film shoot and focusing on PA work in and around the office.

Since then, I have moved to London permanently and have been working at a post-production facility for five months, trying to expand my knowledge of the film production process.

Although my experience thus far has been specific to film, I feel that I have the required experience to tackle the tasks that this position demands as I love to write and have always had an avid interest in journalism, whether it be researching, editing or writing articles. At University, I dove head first into scriptwriting, but managed to maintain a creative writing portfolio too. I have a strong command of the English language, as well as exceptional grammar skills.

I have a keen eye for fashion and am thoroughly interested in that industry, so combining my love for writing and fashion would come most naturally.

Even though I have not had direct professional experience with copywriting, I understand the necessity of implementing SEO copywriting skills due to the online nature of this job. It is imperative to keep in mind not only the customer, but also the search engines, so that the brand is represented properly and found by the right online market.

I have dealt with secretarial duties and fully understand the constraints of time and the pressure of working to a strict deadline. I tend to find creative solutions to problems and enjoy having a multitude of responsibilities, working well under stress. I am well organised and able to manage several tasks all at once, whilst keeping a cheery demeanour!

I am interested in all aspects of the media world and I think that my creative background gives me added enthusiasm and focus, allowing me to understand and analyse a problem more efficiently and in a diverse and original way.

Working with others is where I succeed and I never miss anything, considering scrutinising the details of an assignment to be of particular importance.

Having lived in several countries and travelled quite extensively, I believe that I am excellent at dealing with people of all natures and forging relationships in both a professional and social way. I also think that my experience has encouraged me to be quite diplomatic in most situations, allowing me to keep a level head and an objective view.

Simply, I feel that I would thrive and be passionate about my work if I was chosen, always one to be fervent about tackling stimulating tasks.
