ABOUT

Following the success of our debut Blackout Collection, Fovi’s second drop was never going to play it safe. Enter the Block Dress—a bold, handmade statement piece designed to capture the mood of high summer and carry it gracefully into the golden days of late summer.

At its heart, this release was about contrast—bright, unapologetic colour meeting timeless black; elegance meeting playfulness; and a modern, confident silhouette meeting the heritage of British, handmade craftsmanship. My role was to shape the creative direction from concept to launch: developing the story behind the dress, refining its positioning, and overseeing the video production and editing that brought it to life online.

From the outset, the aim was clarity and intent: no overcomplication, no fluff—just a confident, visual statement. The Block Dress comes in two limited-edition colourways—Coral + Black and Lime + Black—each chosen to stand out without shouting. Two styles give the wearer options: a mid-length cut for drama and elegance, and a shorter, just-above-the-knee version for versatility and movement. Both are built around a simple A-line shape that flatters while allowing the colours to do the talking.

The design intentionally celebrates everyday luxury. The sleeveless bodice pops against the deep black skirt, with hidden pockets—because practicality should never be an afterthought. It’s an unpretentious nod to the fact that clothes should work with you, not just for show.

Material choice was non-negotiable. Crafted from 100% breathable cotton, each dress offers both comfort and structure, making it as suited to a summer wedding as it is to cocktails in the city or a lazy afternoon in the park. Handmade in small runs, it carries the slow-fashion ethos that defines Fovi: fewer, better pieces that last beyond a single season.

Visually, the Block Dress campaign was built to connect instantly—bright blocks of colour, clean framing, and dynamic cuts in the video edit to evoke summer movement. Layered with pieces from the Blackout Collection, the imagery showed its adaptability, proving it wasn’t just a high-summer dress but a late-summer staple.

Ultimately, this drop was designed to make people stop scrolling, to see something they don’t find in mainstream fashion: a dress that balances boldness with wearability, colour with craftsmanship, and beauty with purpose. As the second chapter in Fovi’s story, the Block Dress sets the tone for what’s next—clothes that feel as good as they look, built to be worn, loved, and remembered.
