ABOUT

Pushy and Pully in Blockland is a cooperative arcade game made by Resistance Studio, an independent video game developer. I had the pleasure to be involved on the many promotion stages following the game’s release and had a direct hand in its advertisement through both print and web.

My work for Resistance Studio was split into different projects and stages:

1. Print advertisement / Flyers - To promote the award-winning game at the EGX Rezzed event in March 2020, I was tasked with creating a flyer that would be both attractive and informative. An embedded QR code linking to the game’s Steam page was required, in order to show all three awards the game won. The final result ticked all these boxes and is being used as a reference for future marketing assets surrounding the game.
2. Digital advertisement / Banner ads - Following the game’s release, Resistance Studio launched an advertising campaign on major gamer networks. My role was to use the various parts composing the key art and animate them. Using three different banner ad formats, I created two versions of these banners: one using basic animations and interaction, the other embedding a gameplay video from YouTube along with the animations. Both were made to work vertically and horizontally.
3. Landing page - The last step was to create a dedicated landing page for Pushy and Pully in Blockland, where visitors could get more information on the game itself, how to buy and play it, or have access to the game’s official press kit. A simple one page and static website was made to achieve this goal, built from scratch with HTML5 / CSS3 / JavaScript, lightweight, mobile-first and optimised for SEO.
