ABOUT
The brief was to create a comic strip senior school students could use to create their own story detailing the process one would go through if they are committed of committing a knife crime.
The comic was was black and white and some of the faces were left blank so the students could colour and create their own characters.
To create the book I worked closely with the museum and an ex-convict. The ex-convict would describe to me the emotions he felt from being arrested to going to trial to eventually going to prison. From these notes I converted them into a story and then turned them into drawings being sure to capture the emotions describes to me in the characters body language.
The end result was an 18 page comic strip which schools would be given as part of an educational pack for students to work on after visiting the museum.
During this time I did some additional work for the museum creating court role character cards students could use when taking part in a mock court case at the museum, and I also provide a “how to draw a Judge” video which I created and edited for them.
