ABOUT

When North East Screen brought us in, they were changing fast. A new name, new governance, new direction, same determination to put the North East on a global stage.
To get more productions in the region. To get more local talent stepping up. And more businesses wanting a slice of the screen-sector boom.

We rebuilt their brand from the ground up, keeping it grounded in the North East’s no-nonsense spirit. Big, honest typography with a North-East designed typeface. A colour palette inspired by coal, coastline, steel and stormy skies. Photography that feels real, not overly staged. And a tone of voice that sounds like the people it represents. No fluff. No buzzwords. Just clear intent: support talent, attract productions and grow our region’s screen industry.

The website became the workhorse the organisation needed. We organised it around the journeys that matter: crew finding jobs, productions finding locations, businesses finding funding and local people discovering training and opportunities. Early analytics showed results straight away. Time on site increased. Job opportunity click-throughs jumped up. Production enquiries rose, helped by clearer calls to action and easier access to Film Office services.

On the back end, we built a CMS that the team can update themselves. New funding calls, placement schemes, location galleries and training opportunities can go live in minutes. Search visibility improved too, with organic traffic increasing by just under 40 per cent within the first six months. The site also hit full AA accessibility compliance at launch, which matters in a sector that talks a lot about inclusion but doesn’t always deliver it.

Today, North East Screen is armed with a brand and website that finally reflect the scale of what they are doing. Confident but not cocky. Polished but still rooted in the region. A proper North East voice with national reach.

Literally a great project for great people, doing great things for our great region.
