For my FMP I wanted to explore food, and in particular, the human relationship with food and the psychology behind it. Society is obsessed with food, whether that be eating too much that 2.1 billion people are now obese or looking at the opposite end of the spectrum where many suffer from anorexia. I wanted to look at how much of an impact social media plays and how influential words such as “thinspiration” and “food porn” became a trend. After analysing the impact of food wastage within the experiments brief, I wanted to take this forward and open it out to all hosts of issues surrounding the topic of food. In order to address these issues, I wanted to create a magazine, the magazine serves as a vehicle to highlight controversial topics displayed by high impact images designed to shock, disgust and mock all aspects of food and eating.

The challenge is to create something that is both engaging, informative and emotive so people are encouraged to pick up and read and think about the issues addressed.
