ABOUT

This project was to design an atrium for a factitious P&O cruise ship. Trying to make the atrium the heart of the ship once more was the driving force behind this project. Also making it in proportion to the growing size of the cruise ships, so this area was not lost and something to stumble upon was key.

This area houses all that a passenger would need. The various decks includes:
- Passenger Amenities ie. Reception, Shore Excursions, Pursers Office
- Cafes/Bars
- Main Dining Restaurants
- Specialty Restaurants
- Shopping Facilities
- Library
- Cinema
It has been designed taking into account the movements of a typical passenger and the particular brand. The spaces are open and all about promoting communication between the passengers as well as people watching. It would enable passengers to see what is going on throughout the atrium to pull them into a certain activity.

The scheme for this atrium was to remain appealing to loyal passengers of the brand but to also inject a little bit of excitement to attract new customers.
