ABOUT
The "Fire In Delhi" custom piece, featured in Bombaymami's music video, was an incredibly special project for me. When Bombaymami and Jonni approached me about creating a look for the video, I was honoured and excited—this was a dream opportunity, as I’ve always wanted to work on a piece for a music video. Not only was the experience deeply rewarding, but it also represented a part of my heritage, making it even more meaningful.
The inspiration for this piece was deeply rooted in South Asian culture, drawing from the vibrant world of Bollywood movies, songs, and fashion. The rich colours, intricate details, and luxurious aesthetic were all influenced by the grandeur and timeless beauty of South Asian art and storytelling, making this piece a celebration of tradition and creativity.
While creating this piece, I went through a very difficult time—my dad passed away unexpectedly. My mind wasn’t in the best place, but focusing on this project gave me something to hold onto and helped me keep going. As creators, we all make mistakes, and I faced my fair share during this process. However, mistakes are a natural part of the journey; they help us learn, grow, and strive to do better.
The intricate gold-adorned top was beautifully crafted by Claudia Pink, while the rich red satin skirt was masterfully designed by Emile Braibant. Together, these elements came to life to create a look that embodies luxury, culture, and resilience.
