As the Founder of CASSINE, Kelly Oozageer who is a Fashion graduate with an MA in Fashion Design, the independent designer has also got a strong family history of fashion design, textiles, pattern cutting, tailoring and an artistic presence.
This has brought inspiration to be focused on the multi-heritage side to the brand and garment construction with pattern cutting.
The story of different identities, with mixes of Indian and African cultures by keeping its traditions through environmental exquisite fabrics with contemporary modern designs.
The use of natural materials by also manufacturing traditional methods with a modern twist.
This will help promote the Slow fashion movement, which will provide long lasting guarantee for the products and also to provide a better environment for the “Who Made My Clothes?” community with equal pay and opportunities.
The brand CASSINE comes from the influence of the designers multi-heritage of Mauritius and South Africa, a mixture of different cultures.
The name OOZAGEER was originated from South Africa called Kwa-Zulu, and is now home to many people in Mauritius.
They decided to have the name CASSINE because of the significants of the brand from a multi-diverse culture and it’s passion on gender neutrality.
