ABOUT
The poster was made for Japanese Kimono & music Festival in Shizuoka, Japan.
The main event was 'Oirandouchu' = Oiran/Geisha (Courtesan's) parade, to introduce Japanese traditional culture by providing an opportunity to experience Japanese clothing 'Kimono' and makeup techniques in Edo period.
I used my illustration as a background to represent the imaginary world of Edo and photo of 'Oiran' in the middle to represent the real world now.
