About me

Dear Sir/Madam

I am looking for flexible employment to do along side my Postgraduate Studies in Graphic Design at the University of Central Lancashire.

I graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2011 with a BA (Hons) in Digital Graphics with First-Class Honours. I studied graphic design, which was directed towards a digital solution. My learning was focus on creative thinking and problem solving through a range of different formats such as website design, moving image and interactive design for mobile phone/tablet Apps.

I also have a strong understanding of the more traditional graphic design for print and can work on both PC and Apple Macs. I have good skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Flash and basic skills and knowledge in After Effects, HTML and CSS.

In 2011, I received an ‘In Book' award at the Design and Art Direction (D&AD) Student Awards, for my iPad App design for the BBC Archives. I created an interactive visual timeline that illustrated the archives as a collection of images, which allows for a fun and interactive way for the audience to connect and discover the contents.

During an internship placement in Summer 2010, I worked as an in-house graphic designer my duties included designing online promotional material for their website, creating personalised twitter backgrounds and designing and developing new printed promotional materials such as newsletter mailers, leaflets/posters and large format print materials.

I also have great leadership and team building skills my most recent example of this is when I undertook a voluntary position as a chairperson of the First Aid Society, within my University's student union. As the chairperson I was responsible for managing a committee, supporting new and existing members, organising weekly meetings, training and social events all year round. I found this opportunity very rewarding and believe it also helped my social interaction when talking to people of different ages and ability.

To conclude, I am a young creative who is full of fresh ideas and talent and would love to have the opportunity to share and develop my skills as a digital graphic designer with you.
