As part of my final year studies at University of Manchester, I wrote a 2,000 word essay which discussed the concepts of love, madness and death in the short stories of the Uruguayan writer Horacio Quiroga. This task involved reading and analysing Quiroga's works (in their original Spanish) and doing secondary research in order to use the arguments of other scholars to back up my own ideas. I received a First for this essay.
