About me

Hi, I'm Katherine, sometimes I go by Kat for short. I am an avid writer, current reporter based out of Southern West Virginia. From words to film and the whole process in between, for me it's all about the pursuit of telling the story. I am a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication. After graduating from Concord University in December of 2020, I landed a job at a local, small-market TV station, WOAY in February of 2021 where I've been working at ever since. Here I realized the true passion I have for story-telling, of stepping into people's unique variations of life and painting their narratives.
I'm not only passionate about the writing/ story-telling aspect of the work that I create, but the research too. The topics I research and write about are quite extensive for my job, however, my time not on the clock is spent honing in on the writing I do for my favorite personal blogging niche-- science. Lately in my spare time I've been working on a blog and starting up a website specifically geared towards science. I've primarily been writing about astronomy and celestial events but the range in scientific topics I enjoy writing about varies throughout a broad scope of those topics, also including biology, psychology , scientific news, and more.
