ABOUT
During my final year at college we were asked to create a pitch for the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service annual report. My design focussed on the relationship between the donor and the patient, exploring the human story within the clinical process.
While they never meet the donor and the recipient are bound by the precious gift generously given and gratefully received. This connection is symbolised by the plasters received by the donor and patient, with different kinds of plasters being used for different parts of the story.
The graphs showing the annual report figures were created using barcodes as this is how each donation is identified and tracked through the donation process.
The first introduction to the tactile quality of the report is the cover, created using a protector fabric with a dimpled soft texture on one side and a plastic/waxy texture on the other to replicate the texture of the plasters within.
