About me
I began my design career in 2001, working for the highly revered Corporate Comms Agency 'Williams and Phoa'. It was there I developed an interest in digital, which saw me moving back to Bristol and co-founding my own digital agency in 2004, going on to run it as Managing and Creative Director for the next en years.
During this time I became passionate about creating the right conditions - for people and creativity to thrive - and it was this conscious leadership ethos that led to my appointment as Taxi's Managing Partner in 2017. I have been really proud of what we have achieved as an agency in that time (Including two Creative Pool awards - People's Choice 2020 and Independent Agency the Year 2019).
An agency is always a work in progress and the ongoing pursuit of 'better' across many moving parts can be relentless. But we never rest. My job is to keep us moving forward, always learning and asking ourselves how we might do things differently - whether that's introducing flexible working (all the way back in in 2017), revolutionising our training and development or placement programme, employing a company-wide coach, moving to a holacratic structure, or pursuing B-corp status.
I'm an active supporter of the Bristol creative scene - as a founding member of the West of England Design Forum and the industry-led education initiative Werkhouse and an active mentor for the Saatchi 'Mentor Black Business' scheme, as well as the 'Kerning the Gap'.
When I am not keeping the wheels of the Taxi turning I like nothing better than getting out for a muddy trail run or a head-clearing gallop on the beautiful Mendip Hills, where I live with my husband and two young children.
