ABOUT

Fayakunu is an ethnocentric hybrid workshop/studio that facilitates pottery, resin casting & woodwork whilst reclaiming lost cultural heritage. Our mission is to bridge social and cultural gaps in our community. Whether that be the cultural disconnect between the generations or a disconnect from our artistic heritage. Fayakunu as an Urban regeneration model in Bradford works to fix serious social issues in our ethnic and underserved communities. Fayakunu combines a cultural ethos to combine STEM education with the arts.

Our project not only provides classes and access to facilities but also provides training to promote social enterprise. We teach the community to market and develop their ideas, encouraging them to confidently explore their creativity. Fayakunu's online marketing platform sells originals and reproductions of artwork created by artists. We bolster ethnic artists in their endeavour to be valued for their hard work and act as a safety net for those from underprivileged backgrounds. Community-led project is currently crowdfunding for the final funds to establish the workshop. Search Fayakunu on Google.
