ABOUT

As part of Black History Month, six members of Accenture’s African and Caribbean Network have teamed up with Black filmmakers, animators and crew from the creative industry to create the ‘Black is’ film series. Each film is a unique story, personal story about what it means to be black and showcases the complexity of the black experience. The films, launched at Accenture’s ‘Black Is…’ event in October, explore the power and the pride in the black community, and aim to foster wider conversations around race.

Black Boy Fly is a story of Daniel, a Technology Consulting Analyst, realising the debilitating effects of mainstream presentations of Black men and a rallying cry to rise above them. The film was co-created with award-winning London-based filmmakers 33Bound.

Black Girl Magic is an animated short film celebrating the exceptional qualities that black women possess. Inspired by the lived experience of Charlene, a Management Consultant at Accenture, this fable-like film was created by London-based animator, Alex Zepherin.
