ABOUT

This retrospective covers detailed hi-fidelity Mobile booking and purchasing schematics for an array of offers and vouchers. The initial impetus came from and was developed by Marko Media, who founded MyVoucherCode.com. This meant that there was an immediate and direct route-to-market. I had just 10 days to re-skin a final concept, based on previous Flinto work but no established checkout flows.

First I had to quickly learn the product and the value proposition, which seemed to closely follow the ZMOT ideology, (the 'Zero' Moment Of Truth) established by Google to explain consumer smartphone behaviour. The More App was all about plugging the Search, Location and Share culture to The Highstreet, to provide bidding platform for brands.

I was able to follow primary booking flows once I had all of the content I needed in place. My UX/UI brainstorm enabled me to begin to place hold key elements and features within the main flows. I then reduced the 'noise' within each page to refine a card design and accommodate the main features.

Lastly, the checkouts were very interesting and revealed a number of features that would need to be applied in their respective case, for example Venues can be added for Tours. Each time, my method was to apply the API as instructed and build simple. There were some huge spanners in the works!

The outcome was not ready for development, but served as an important prototype stage. There were so many hidden issues within the full range of goods/services provided. For example I chose to list Pizza Hut (for Offers) and Pizza Express (for Vouchers) since one is a restaurant and one is more a Fast Food Chain - but can also be a restaurant too!

Retail is so diverse that a business model such as the Vouch Codes one, which attracts numerous brands, is not always directly suited for Mobile. There still remains a lot to be seen in light of ZMOT and Mobile Retail.
