ABOUT
Can a poster be designed as a physical installation before it becomes a photograph?
Created for the opening of the jewellery brand YAYOI, this project explores a design process where the final visual is first built by hand in the physical world.
The poster began as expressive brush-and-ink lettering on paper. It was then transformed into a three-dimensional composition by carefully arranging real jewellery, studio tools and handcrafted objects around it.
Rather than digitally constructing the scene, every shadow, reflection and texture originated from physical materials and thoughtful composition.
A professional photographer captured the installation, and that single photograph became the final artwork printed as posters and invitation cards for the studio opening.
The project celebrates the dialogue between graphic design, styling, photography and craftsmanship, demonstrating how analogue processes can create rich, tactile visual experiences long before the image reaches the screen.
