ABOUT
Creative Direction & Editorial Design
How can handcrafted jewellery become part of a story rather than simply a product?
This commissioned project explores how art direction, collage and typography can transform product photography into editorial storytelling. Instead of presenting jewellery as isolated objects, each composition places the handcrafted pieces within an emotional narrative, creating imagery that invites curiosity, imagination and connection.
A jewellery artist commissioned a series of visual artworks to elevate the presentation of her handmade jewellery collection.
The original photographs documented the finished pieces but lacked the emotional atmosphere needed to communicate the uniqueness of the craftsmanship.
The goal was to create a series of posters that would present the jewellery from an artistic perspective, combining storytelling, fairy tale-inspired aesthetics and expressive Cyrillic calligraphy.
The visuals needed to work across multiple touchpoints, including social media, promotional banners, exhibitions and the artist's workshop.
Creative Direction
Rather than treating the jewellery as the final subject, I treated it as the starting point of a visual narrative.
Using collage, portrait photography, handwritten calligraphy and editorial composition, each artwork was carefully art directed to express mystery, femininity and craftsmanship while allowing the jewellery to remain the central element of the story.
Three poster designs were created, each transforming simple product photography into expressive editorial artwork. The final compositions elevated the perceived value of the handmade pieces while providing versatile assets for both digital promotion and physical display.
This project demonstrates how thoughtful art direction can transform handcrafted products into meaningful visual narratives.
