A modern take on Little Women written by Sarah Ruhl, with the focus being on the sisters and Joe as she comes of age and finds her voice. My role was Costume Designer, Wig Designer and Set dec. I wanted to make the space feel warm and the girls personal style to show through. I achieved this look through research and memory of what a hearth warmed home felt like. To set the right tone, color, texture and hand made items gave this space a feeling of realism. Sourcing and building costumes from 1868 took research as well as innovation. With a small budget and a knowledge of fashion history I was able to pull together a very convincing historical drama.
