In need of interested Artists required for leadership, curation and active participation in creating hill street mural art for public interest, revival of hill wall art and promotion of hill street wall art in the East Himalayan town of Kalimpong, India. This is a Text In Performance spearheaded by the team of the hill art Journal of Kao_hillfolks, this is purely a social cause to revive hill art in the Eastern Himalayan region of Kalimpong, Darjeeling, India.

The use of hill art murals that will transform the town of Kalimpong into an open art gallery symbolizing and showcasing culture and art inspired that is emerging or has emerged from this region of the Eastern Himalayas.

It is an initiative to create platforms and showcase local emerging artists from the region of Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Sikkim.

The journal of Kao is a hill art journal (print/online) based in Kalimpong, India. The hill art journal seeks to publish poetry, fiction, non-fiction, visual art, criticism, interviews, sound art and hybridised texts, both from established and emerging artists. Kao stands by the potential for any original work from anywhere to inhabit and proliferate cohesively in a multilingual, imaginative and diverse space. The journal will also focus on translations of texts into English from the region of (and not specific to) Kalimpong, Darjeeling/Doars as well as the North-East of India. Kao is an inter-disciplinary showcase of a text in performance predominantly emerging from the region of Kalimpong/Doars/Darjeeling and Sikkim.
