ABOUT

My series of illustrations, titled "Radiant Roots," is a celebration of the profound sense of style and aesthetic inherent to African people, blending the vibrancy of nature with the dynamism of pop culture and fashion.

I draw inspiration from the rich tapestry of Africa's landscapes and its cultural expressions, merging these with contemporary pop culture icons and the ever-evolving world of fashion. This fusion not only honors the traditional but also embraces the modern, creating a dialogue between past and present.

The illustrations palette consists of a bold mix of primary & secondary colors: fresh-greens, vivid-reds, electric-blues, and golden-yellows paired with the warm, comforting tones of earth colors like terracotta, olive, and burnt umber. This palette not only pays homage to Africa's rich landscapes but also mirrors the lively spirit and creativity of its people.

The illustration style is inspired by "Mob Psycho 100" and "Rick and Morty” styles.

Through "Radiant Roots," I aim to showcase the diversity, resilience, and innovation of African style and identity. Each piece tells a story of connection — to land, to heritage, and to the global cultural conversation. My illustrations are an invitation to explore and celebrate this rich cultural confluence, encouraging viewers to see beauty in the fusion of the traditional with the modern, the natural with the artificial, and the past with the future.
