The problem I have been working to overcome throughout this project is the difficulty involved in the cleaning of a bicycle after a typical day of riding, by firstly exploring the development of current techniques and secondly looking at the lack of products presently available on the market. This product (A semi-automated bicycle washer) is for use within the home and within a business. In the home environment after a day of riding the washer would be used before the bike is put into a car or garage/shed. It must therefore be portable and easily transported alongside the bike. Within a business environment it could be used to clean a number of bicycles, particularly in an area of densely populated bikes where It could be immediately cleaned and represented to the next client, offering a fast turnaround, professional presentation and improve the life of the bicycle with the extra care. The solution in the form of a semi-automated washer is a product that will hold the bike in an upright position acting as a stand focusing particularly on the bicycle wheel. The product will allow the bike to be de-greased, washed, polished, dried and maintained whilst being held. This will be possible using a exterior hose with a low pressure soft jet brush in comparison to a commercial jet washer so as not to damage any of the mechanics or body of the bicycle. Within a few minutes the bicycle is ready to be transported or put away or indeed be re used.
