ABOUT
Rebranding Castle Trust, an investment and mortgage company. The brief was to redesign a new logo along with new colours, fonts and imagery along with guidelines as to how this was to be implemented across all collateral both online and off.
The challenge I had was looking at the business as a whole and working out whether they wanted a complete rebrand or simply enhancing their current logo, look and feel.
The current logo didn’t convey the message that they were confident, they wanted to evoke an impression of strength, security and innovation. But do they do this in a brash way or more subtle. Using colours were one way to do this and protection and trust imagery was easily conveyed through motifs such as portcullises and battlements.
I worked up 5 different ideas using a kind of lifecycle of where they were at the time to where they would like to be if they were to completely rebrand the whole company.
The finished/chosen logo was a cleaned-up version of their current logo. I strengthened the colours so that it stood out, recreated a new font and adjusted the typography so it aligns and sits comfortably into various formats. It was a safe option with minimal impact to the overall impression they give to customers.
