In a crowded cybersecurity landscape often dominated by fear tactics and jargon, Just Global partnered with OpenText to deliver a game-changing campaign that stood out by doing the opposite—using humor, bold creativity, and cinematic storytelling to engage a traditionally hard-to-reach SMB audience.
Following OpenText’s acquisition of several well-known cybersecurity tools and their consolidation into a single platform, the marketing challenge was clear: drive awareness and consideration without resorting to the fear-based messaging typical of the category. Just Global responded with a distinctive concept built around the “Maverick” archetype, which shows fearless business owners taking outrageous, tongue-in-cheek measures to protect their companies from cyber threats.
Taking cues from TikTok and LinkedIn trends, the team created fictional influencer characters who isolated themselves in Arctic tundras and forest cabins, dramatizing the extreme (and unnecessary) lengths businesses might consider in their quest for security. The result was a series of satirical, short-form vlogs that both entertained and educated, positioning OpenText as a grounded, relatable security partner.
Behind the scenes, cutting-edge technology powered the production. Leveraging green screens, Unreal Engine, Midjourney, and VFX, Just Global built visually rich, photo-realistic environments without breaking budget. The creative juxtaposition of amateur-style social content with high-end CGI brought authenticity and humor to the forefront—while maintaining cinematic polish.
The campaign spanned CTV, digital display, and social platforms, over-achieving on brand metrics and engagement, including a 33% video completion rate, well above benchmarks. More importantly, it exceeded client targets for inquiries and MQLs. The cross-channel strategy drove a 4x lift in account engagement, with a 28.5% account engagement rate.
Just Global’s strategy was as sharp as it is creative. Grounded in deep research—including customer interviews, intent analysis, and cross-departmental workshops—the campaign aligned perfectly with business goals, uniting product messaging and audience needs in a single, cohesive narrative.
This work not only delivered results but set a new standard for what cybersecurity marketing can be: bold, human, and wildly effective.
