While assisted dying remains illegal in France, Belgium decriminalized and regulated euthanasia more than twenty years ago. The documentary "Euthanasia, the Final Journey," directed by Simon Wohlfahrt, retraces the journey of French patients who use Belgian intermediaries and doctors to end their lives with dignity across the border. Its short animated teaser poses a simple yet delicate question: how to represent absence on screen?
