About me

During my time at University I had a close involvement with local performance artists and events officers at the Warwick Arts Centre. I have worked on many different projects all requiring a high level of communication and organisational skills. In my fist year I worked alongside a postgraduate student in launching a 'Pilot' show where artists from around the country were invited to perform a piece of work in progress. Marketing this event to the target audience was vital to generate a platform for feedback to benefit the development of the artists' work.

Being appointed Head Girl at my school in Sheffield gave me experience in working in a leadership role. Along with three other students I arranged the final sixth form ball. This involved overseeing ticket sales as well as booking the venue, liaising with caterers, hiring of entertainment and decoration. This was an excellent experience of working to a deadline and strict budget.

Working on the improvisation festival (SHIFTI) at the Warwick Arts Centre was an opportunity for me to work within a team but also have individual responsibility for my own performance group of an improvisational orchestra of thirty-two. I was responsible during their stay for their transport, accommodation, rehearsal and catering needs.

I was also assistant stage manager for a performance of The Night Heron at the Warwick Arts Centre. This production was then selected for the National Student Drama Festival (NSDF).
