ABOUT
Crystalline - Digital Fashion Animation Character Creation | Concept Development | 3D Design & Animation
"Crystalline" is a digital fashion animation that showcases my expertise in character creation, concept design, and 3D garment simulation. This project blends elements of fashion, fantasy, and cinematic storytelling, pushing the boundaries of digital couture and world-building.At its core, the animation tells a story of transformation and resilience, embodied by a celestial figure navigating an ethereal, ice-like landscape. However, beyond the narrative, this project serves as a technical showcase of my 3D design workflow, from avatar development to animation and final rendering.

Project Breakdown - 3D Design Process
1. Avatar and Motion Development
✔ Custom character built in Daz3D, featuring celestial-inspired hair and facial elements.
✔ Animation rigged in Daz3D, ensuring fluid, natural movement.
2. Garment Creation & Simulation
✔ Fashion design developed in Clo3D, simulating intricate folds, structural details, and weight.
✔ Focus on textile realism and movement dynamics to enhance the garment’s storytelling potential.
- Occurred Problems
1. When export alembic animation from Blender to CLO3D for cloth simulation animation speed and number of frames are changing. So my 1 mistake was to make simulation speed slower in CLO3D, because after exporting back to Blender I faced asynchronization of movement.
2. The long hair of Avatar make mix of mesh in simulation, so normally everyone prefer to have short hair or not have it any. I had a risk to leave it and try to find solution.
a) I Did holes in garment for hair, but simulate in avatar without hair for avoid the mix of layers. As a result it was not matching the hair shape and holes. I try to edit in sculpt mode mesh of the hair in Blender, it is not solving problem and taking hundred years of my life.
b) I tried to move faces and verticals of the holes to make it match with hair, it was not looking nice and naturally.c) I decided to delete faces of the hair and leave only a part that should be inside the holes. »»»It works!
- Found Solution
1. Deleted the faces and verticals of hair that lay on the chest and just keep the one that is inside of holes.
2. Exported alembic file of avatar animation from Blender to CLO3D.
3. Fit the dress to the avatar.
4. Adapted the holes position and size of the holes to the shape of the hair.
5. Pin holes to the hair.
6. Simulated garment.
Done! :)
3. Texturing & Material Detailing
✔ Substance Painter used for hyper-detailed textures, adding a weathered, ice-like effect to the fabric.
4. Scene Creation & Rendering
✔ Blender for environment, camera setup, and lighting design, evoking a frozen yet ethereal world.
✔ Focus on cinematic depth, atmospheric fog, and sunset hues to create a dreamlike ambiance.
5. Post-Production & Final Touches
✔ Photoshop & Adobe Premiere for color correction, and video editing.
"Crystalline" is a fusion of fashion, technology, and storytelling, demonstrating my ability to conceptualize, design, and execute a high-end digital animation. It is not just a fashion piece but an immersive experience—a testament to how digital craftsmanship can blur the line between reality and imagination.
