ABOUT

Logline:

"A young soldier accompanies his unknowing squad through a wartime vision of Dante's Inferno, led by their tough and gritty squad leader. He must remember where they are, and how they got there, before they reach their destination the Seventh Circle."

CIRCLES is a high-spec, VFX-laden micro-epic that works to achieve a human connection between its characters in the face of unsurmountable odds. It is a matte-heavy showcase of the intricate, nightmarish visions of Beksinski, Giger or Socar Myles. It is designed to show, without demonstrating any actual violence, the irony and horror of modern warfare – that the literal landscape of Hell is indistinguishable to soldiers who have been to the frontline. It is just another ruin, just as decrepit and harrowing as any battlefield after armed forces have moved through. The fact that they are in Hell - rather than Aleppo in the modern day, or Belfast in the 70’s, or Bosnia in the 90’s – is ultimately irrelevant to the collective experience of these characters and the audience.

This script is unproduced to date, and currently in competition at several festivals and screenwriting contests.
