The Creative Director at JOY requested a rabbit graphic and packaging for a heat sensitive mug which was to read ‘bunny’ when cool and ‘bunny boiler’ when hot. Inspired by Japanese kawaii culture I illustrated an overly cute bunny which would make the mug all the more surprising when the word ‘boiler’ is revealed by its hot contents. The packaging was designed to illustrate the special heat sensitive nature of the mug without stating it boldly in words.
