Adrian Frutiger has been one of the most influential typographical graphic designers and I was asked to create a publication that celebrated his life from start to finish looking at more than just his achievements in graphics.

I wanted to reflect over his life in a chronological way providing a year by year commentary on what he did or what big events were happening at the time.

I looked at the way he worked with his large letter forms and over laying the typographical elements. This inspired the way that I worked for this project and allowed me to create a large coffee table book that can be opened flat and admired from the comfort of your chair.

The book explores how Frutiger has transitioned through different periods of typography and has adapted to change whilst teaching and passing on his knowledge. It shows every font that he made and gives an insight into how he created them.
