Recent projects.
OLI, NBCUniversal 2026 Winter Olympics (Milan Cortina)
Led the technology direction for OLI, NBCU's AI-powered Olympic viewing assistant, across two consecutive Olympic Games. For Paris 2024, OLI launched across 5 websites — handling real-time queries across 7,000+ hours of programming, deep-linking users directly into Peacock streams, and resolving genuinely complex natural language requests like "What should I watch this weekend
The build required solving for both scale and safety simultaneously: directing hundreds of millions of users through a single AI experience during one of the world's highest-traffic events, while managing hallucination risk responsibly and maintaining a multifaceted brand voice — a friendly welcome, the energy of a genuine Olympics fan, and a confident coach that could handle out-of-bounds queries without breaking character. OLI is a case study in what it means to build AI that performs under real-world pressure. Alongside delivery, the team developed a custom evaluation platform using an "LLM as judge" methodology to score responses across seven conversational metrics with over 97% accuracy — turning what had been manual QA into a scalable, automated framework.
Huge Horizons, Fast Company MIC Summit 2025
Huge Horizons is a physical, AI-powered generative installation built for Fast Company's 2025 Most Innovative Companies Summit at the Javits Center. The experience invited thought leaders to answer a series of curated prompts around their vision for the future. Their choices drove a real-time AI pipeline, powered by Google, Stability AI, and Adobe Firefly, that produced two outputs simultaneously: an original idea with concrete applications tailored to their interests, and a unique 3D digital sculpture visualizing that idea, generated fresh every single time.
Behind the experience sat 24 fine-tuned image generation models, each rigorously trained on specific visual styles, with 5 rounds of evaluation and retraining producing over 2,500 test images before launch. The on-premise kiosk stack ran Unity and MadMapper across synchronized multi-display hardware with DMX lighting, all connected to a GCP/Vertex AI cloud backend. Huge Horizons is a proof point for what Huge builds at the intersection of design and technology: AI that is not just useful, but experiential, physical, and genuinely surprising.
