ABOUT
We wanted to communicate the core purpose of the event; the clashing of two worlds - traditional broadcasters against the more agile, less conventional streaming services. If only age could and youth knew.
We devised an approach that integrates the distinct duality of analogue vs digital. Analogue dials and sliders to touch screens and hand gestures. To fuse these two rich worlds, we utilise distinct design, animation and audio cues from each, in a harmonious blend to create an expansive vibrant experience.
We defined a design language that gave the viewer 3 key prompts.
PRINT: VOLUME: CONTROL. We used these to grab attention, expose the viewer to our identity, then punctuated these moments with calm to present information.
We wanted nostalgia and disruption to play a big part in the conference. We used audio to guide us through. We wanted to use sound bites from familiar mnemonics, we used these audio cues to subconsciously trigger familiarity.
We designed an experience, an ‘audiovisual hijack’; a way to amplify the presence of our identity and branding, as the opening day of the conference approaches. We took over their website, their Insta feed, we even changed the WiFi code.
