John Pearse 3D Artist

ABOUT

A few renders of my current personal WIP, something every 3D artist gets around to eventually - modelling my own home!

Well, if you want to recreate reality you need good reference, and what better than to start with what's right around you.
-
I started blocking this out as a realtime experience in Unreal and have been switching between that, Blender, and C4D. I have a fair amount of experience with UE5 at this point, but learning Blender has been new territory.
It's a bit like learning a new language. So far I'm fine with the vocab as it's similar to what I know from other programmes, but understanding the grammar (i.e, the logic of what order you do things in and why) is still tripping me up. Onwards and upwards!
-
I've still got lots more to do, but so far I'm pleased on the whole with how it's looking. Things like the sofa and cushions I've never tried modelling before, so for now I'm accepting that they're not perfect. I'll probably come back to them before I call it all done.

Everything in the scene is made by me apart from the plants, which came from BlenderKit.
