Hello!

It's time to redesign ignitionit.net. Wanna help?

We already have cloyingly clever content. We already have a developer. Now we just need YOU to:

* Design the landing page plus 13 interior pages, for all sizes of web browsers.
* Craft custom iconography to give our site a unique feel.
* Design other illustrations for the site, if we can't find stock art that suits our impossibly high standards.
* Consult on, or design, even tiny animations for every single screen on every single page.
* Work with our content writer, developer, and project stakeholder to tell us when our ideas are off the rails and we need to do it your way.
* Advise on conversion-optimized, and SEO-optimized, design.

We want a rare website that makes visitors go "wow!" even if they don't buy anything. We want them to come back next week and peek again. We want them to sign up for our newsletter and read our blog, hoping to get more of your design goodness. We want them to say to their friends, "Let me show you this cool site I came across today," on their second glass of whiskey. (Isn't that what you do on your second glass of whiskey?).

Our copy is smart-ass to the point of hyperbole. We need a design that matches. If you're sick-and-tired of Wordpress themes, you might have the gumption for it. Our preferred design aesthetic utilizes:

* Minimalist design.
* Lots of whitespace.
* As little text as possible (which means we might need to cut our content, okay fine).
• Bright, cheerful colors.
* Animations on every screen.
* One key message per screenful.
* Tasty visuals.

One way to envision the design would be to pretend that you're designing a site for a professional photographer, or fashion designer, or ad agency. (Except you're actually designing it for a stuffy, boring I.T. company whom nobody wants to talk to at parties, sshhhhh don't tell the designer.).

We will NOT be using any Wordpress themes. If you ask, "Have you already selected a Wordpress theme?" your application will be immediately and disdainfully disqualified. Instead, we'll be using a site builder (Thrive Architect) to create a site that doesn't fit in a box.

Here is a Pinterest board with some ideas to inspire you:

We want to THINK BIG when it comes to animations... but consider them as a separate budget line item before approving them. We have no idea how much it costs to write custom Javascript. If budget is a problem, these can be stock animations from an animation library. As mentioned above, we would like every screenful of the site to have an animation of some kind, to make the website feel more interactive and inviting. You don't need to know how to write Javascript; but you need to design the animations and, if we can't find a developer within budget, go back to the drawing board.

Here are sites of our boring competitors that we DO NOT WANT TO IMITATE, to make you realize how low the bar is (but let's set a bar so high that none of them will ever reach it):

Will you be our person?

(Note: We won't be contacting applicants for followup until at least May 8.).
