Job Summary

Square Enix are looking for a talented Web Designer to create amazing user experiences. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful web design.

The successful candidate will be reporting into the Lead web Designer and will be focused principally on designing a wide range of customer-facing online properties and assets.

Please note this is a contract position paying a day rate, you must be able to invoice for time worked.

Key Deliverables:

Help create and deliver branded websites for various Square Enix products. Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.

Key Stakeholders:

Lead Web Designer, Senior Manager – Web Development, Lead Front End Developer

Publishing business: Territory marketing teams, territory sales teams.

Development studios: Brand marketing teams, including PR staff and community managers

Reports to:

Lead web Designer

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

Proven work experience as a web designer.

Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.

Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.

Knowledge of Responsive Web Design.

Experience with image optimisation for the web.

Knowledge of UX best practice.

Desirable:

Design-related university qualifications.

Web design experience in some segment of the videogames industry.

Knowledge of progressive enhancement and multi-browsers compatibility issues.

Competencies, Skills and Attributes

Essential:

Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools.

Team player.

Creativity.

Self-motivating.

Ability to deal effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously so as to meet all deadlines.

Other:

Understanding of video game industry.

Up-to-date with the latest Web trends, techniques and technologies.
