JOB OVERVIEW:

The Videographer/Editor will capture and edit video content of varying lengths for multiple channels. The successful individual will be self-driven and creative, with a high taste level and a portfolio demonstrating expertise in fashion and lifestyle content. The Videographer/Editor will collaborate closely with the Associate Creative Director of Social & Paid Media, Producers, crew, and agency partners to successfully translate the creative vision. This individual will contribute to conceptual and storyboarding phases by sharing swipe and video techniques that will enhance our storytelling. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Capture and edit video content representing the Bloomingdale’s brand esthetic on schedule.

  • See projects from beginning conceptual to the end execution.

  • Maintains a dialog with the Creative Directors, Producers and the Project Management team to understand overall creative vision/deliverables and make recommendations to produce high quality work.

  • Attends project meetings: conceptual, style outs, pre-pros.

  • Collaborates with creative leadership to create desired end goals of motion/video content.

  • Submits ideas and video/animation swipe that elevate our output.

  • Knowledge of storyboarding, scripting and concepting.

  • Shoot projects with different deliverables in mind (e.g. vertical vs. horizontal videos, teasers, boomerangs).

  • Excellent post production editing for multiple end usages.

  • Strategically manage equipment and crew to ensure shoots go smoothly.

  • Proficiency in the management and maintenance of various kinds of capture, lighting and sound equipment. As well as a high-level knowledge of editing software.

  • To keep content relevant, turn editing around quickly and on each deadline.

  • Ensure that Bloomingdale’s standards are always upheld on set.

  • Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years of experience capturing and editing video content.

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced and dynamic creative environment.

  • Relevant portfolio of recent work.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly skilled in fostering a collaborative work environment.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and demonstrate leadership.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to manage projects and prioritize next steps with diverse peer and senior teams.

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking. 

  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. 

  • May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.  
  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. 

  • May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Ability to move and think quickly to make necessary shifts in the executions.

  • Strong fashion knowledge and understanding of trends.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong aptitude in anticipating and following production processes and timelines.

  • Identify and advocate for workflow improvements and technical resource needs.

  • In-tune with industry best practices.

WORK HOURS:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
