Edelman is seeking a talented Creative Director to join its award-winning New York creative team.

This Creative Director will be responsible for developing groundbreaking multi-channel work for a major retail brand. They will be challenged to push convention to find the most innovative ways to drive consumer behavior in today’s socially-charged, digital environment. Their output will be an invigorating blend of social media campaigns, digital campaigns, branding, & experiential - plus any big ideas they can dream up & pitch. This Creative Director with bring a passionate knowledge of digital creative & social media, as well as a love of smart, beautiful work.

  • Develop and deliver creative concepts and ideas, founded in insights, across all platforms for briefs and new business pitches.
  • Develop work that is consistent with the brand’s personality and will differentiate the client from the competition.
  • Deliver fresh thinking and innovative creative solutions and relevant, motivating campaigns and platforms.
  • Develop platform idea and work with planning function to determine parameters for success.
  • Recognize and develop great ideas and push them forward.
  • Work hand-in-hand with senior account leads to see projects from ideas to activation, effectively completing projects of high quality within timeframe and budget.
  • Work in conjunction with account teams, planners and strategists to direct the visual/verbal expression of brand building ideas to drive media coverage, buzz and brand.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 8-12 years of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Creative agency experience (some in-house is okay, as long as it was a great house).
  • A killer online portfolio with a nice mix of traditional, digital, and social creative.
  • A love for (and an active user of) social media.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a smile.
  • Willingness to push your craft, get your hands dirty and make great things.
  • Social fluency and a solid understanding of how to drive conversation and engagement across social channels.
  • A natural flare for the unique, the buzz-worthy and the culturally relevant.
  • Ability to think strategically and conceptualize creatively.
  • Strong presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing day-to-day changes at every level of detail and handling them with a team oriented, entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Experience maintaining client contact as needed and assist with budget and schedule development.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous roles in Advertising or Art Direction, with a portfolio of ideas and executions demonstrating strong layout and composition with a keen eye for typography and motion.
  • A professional-level mastery of industry standard design software and tools including the full suite of Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Production experience in art direction and design for video, digital and social platforms.
  • Experience in influencer and or community management a plus.
  • Pride in your previous work and the ability to speak to it clearly and concisely during the interview process.

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
