What you’ll be doing:

As a User Researcher (UR) you will be part of our User Experience team, working with our Content Designers, User Experience Designers and the rest of the wider team. You will be responsible for leading and conducting user and business research activities to understand business requirements, user behaviour, uncover user needs and evaluate designs or existing services as well as advocating research-based product development.

As a User Researcher you’ll be:

  • Researching – leading and conducting user and business research activities to understand business requirements, user behaviour and uncover user needs
  • Evaluating – reviewing designs or existing services
  • Advocating – ensuring research-based product development is evangelised throughout our team
  • Presenting – sharing your findings with the wider team in an engaging and collaborative way
  • Recommending – suggesting how research can be integrated through the development lifecycle and making recommendations on research strategies which follow best practices
  • Collaborating – working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure that user-driven design and development is conducted throughout.

Who you are:

We’re interested in speaking to people who:

  • Are a passionate, committed user researcher with a proven track record, preferably working within local or central government, or financial sectors
  • Have experience working as part of a wider UX team and within a multidisciplinary squad
  • Have experience working with agile methodologies and within an agile team
  • Have a strong understanding of
    • A variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods, conducted both in person and remotely
    • User centred design practices and how to integrate them into the agile process
    • Ways in which to turn research data into clear findings and insights to communicate with your team to inform design decisions and iterations
    • Are a strong communicator with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
