I'm working with an established UX team in Central London who are truly doing good - both by the quality of work they produce and the lives all over England that they impact. They are expanding their User Research function with an additional hire as there are many new products under way and their ability to understand a wide range of audiences, their needs and behaviours is essential to delivering outstanding digital services.
This is a varied role which gives you the opportunity to speak with people both inside and outside the business. You’ll have ownership of your projects and flexibility in a process that is open to applying various models and methods based on what’s best for the project. You’ll be woven into a tight, energetic product team - working closely with UX designers, product managers, visual designers and in the researcher role liaising with all parts of the business and externals too.
As part of the role you’ll take on traditional research responsibilities:
- Designing and running user interviews and usability testing
- Remote user testing (not essential for application)
- Qualitative and quantitative insights to provide compelling recommendations
- Recruitment briefs and discussion guides
- Planning and conducting of research activities
- Regular presentation of findings and reports internally and externally
Beyond the technical expertise, we want to see someone who is bright, energetic and a passionate user advocate. You'll have experience working across a range of domains, and presenting insights to a diverse range of people. You will be motivated to run projects autonomously and be proactive in involving different teams in gathering and sharing insights. You will have the drive to seek out new research opportunities and be adaptable to support different research needs, keeping ahead of best practices, new methodologies and tools.
