Position Overview:

We’re seeking an experienced and result-driven Manager, UX Design to help manage our BIM for Construction centre of excellence, composed of two design teams. You will be part of the leadership team for all products managed within this centre of excellence (see details below) and collaborate with your Product Management and Engineering partners to shape the strategic direction of tools that are enabling our customers to efficiently and safely build the world around us.  

Success in this role requires good design management, ability to drive alignment with cross-functional partners/teams, actively helping our vision through data-driven storytelling and a proactive desire to connect with others to drive collaboration. 

The BIM for Construction centre of excellence owns the portfolio of products in ACS designed to help architects, engineers and project teams to collaboratively manage the design process and later on the model coordination and clash management checking.


  • Manage and coach a User Experience Design team covering several product areas.
  • Managing by example, creating a sense of energy and accountability to the work.
  • Work with Product Managers and Engineering leads to contribute to product planning and feature definition, leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to help drive informed decision-making.
  • Mix hands-on design skills with leadership prowess, working across functions, managing by example and advocating for great UX design as a driver of business success.
  • Help the team balance tactical and strategic priorities, ensuring that design, prototyping and user feedback are consistently used to maximum impact in the development process.
  • Accountable for the quality, consistency, and delivery of the design team.
  • Work with the global ACS (Autodesk Construction Solutions) Experience Design teams to drive for a cohesive customer experience.
  • Generate, communicate, and evangelize insights, designs and visions to project teams and senior leadership. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Professional Design experience.
  • User Experience team management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distil complex ideas to their essence.
  • Demonstrated success with cross-functional partnership and collaboration.
  • Good communication, presentation and facilitation skills.  
  • Comfortable in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders, can adjust to changing priorities.
  • Skilled in human-cantered design methods and practice with a high value for advocating customer-centric experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience as a coach balancing hands-on design work and management to contribute your design skills to the team and their projects.
  • Quality portfolio of recent professional XD project or management work.
  • Willingness to work with international teams spread throughout the Globe.
  • Experience in design with an understanding of tasks, experience mapping, low-fidelity prototyping, user testing and more. And you know how to choose the right tool at the right time to drive results.
  • Grasp of design systems and what’s needed to design at scale with a systematic approach to design that drives both quality and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated experience in research - interviews, ethnography, user testing, etc.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and build consensus.
  • Any experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry, either hands-on or through designing software solutions for the industry, would be a great advantage.
