Description:

The Group Design Studio is a global Centre of Excellence providing Group and local markets with strategic design guidance with a vision to “design digital experiences our customers love”. We strive for experience excellence using the double diamond design methodology & principles. The team collaborates with product, marketing, technology and design to increase value to both our customers and our business.  

Role Purpose:

A newly created role in the Digital Operations & Design function responsible for leading the UX team. This team drives human centred design as a creative direction to understanding customer needs and design solutions. This team co-ordinates and executes design activities across digital touchpoints to drive strategic design consistency across products, channels and services. The role promotes design thinking across the Vodafone global footprint to increase cross-functional collaboration in designing new products and services, or optimising existing ones to meet the needs of our customers and increase value for business.
 

Key Accountabilities:

• Responsible for driving the strategic UX direction across products and channels, for online, tablet, mobile and retail, working closely with the Senior Manager of  the Senior Manager of Design Studio.
• Responsible for developing and implementing UX concepts for future services, products and propositions.
• Works directly with local markets to guide the deployment of group design assets.
• Ensure the development and implementation of design assets, aligned best practice, reuse of design artefacts and knowledge sharing.
• Line Management responsibility for all UX resources inc. skills & career development planning and overall wellbeing of team members.

Core Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of UX methodologies and application in agile.
• Proven ability to drive effective project delivery in a fast-moving environment working with both internal and external resources.
• Strong ability to influence at all senior management levels and excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Exceptional communication skills in verbal, written and formal presentation formats.

Must Haves:

• Proven experience in a UX leadership role.
• A degree-level education (or equivalent) in psychology, human factors, design, UX or product design.
• Experience in a commercial product, service and/or telecoms or technology company.
• Client side and agency experience would be desirable but not essential.
