The UX Design discipline at eBay draws together the specialities of interaction, visual and motion design into a combined force. Our UX designers are T-shaped generalists who create design concepts, develop these into scalable and robust frameworks, explore multiple visual directions and deliver product with excellent fit and finish. We drive the creative direction for our whole product.

We work across the product development cycle and pride ourselves for solving really big problems with design. You will work collaboratively with our data, design, product and engineering teams. You’ll make things-elegant, delightful, smart things-and drive engagement and loyalty to eBay.

This role will work on our business seller experience, providing the tools that drive billions of dollars of revenue for sellers. In Seller Experience Design, we empower entrepreneurs by making tools with beautiful utility. We master the challenges of designing at scale.

About you:

You love a challenge and are hungry to help reinvigorate one of the internet’s pioneer brands. You care about making great products and are willing to design and test, to get to the best. You negotiate and evolve design with partners in the project team, and ensure the integrity of the design is upheld. You're knowledgeable about our competitors, understand established design patterns and best practices, but always feel the need to do better.

Responsibilities:

  • Create extraordinary user-centered designs incorporating business requirements, product learning and customer feedback.
  • Design the experience architecture, UI, and interaction flow of new business seller tools.
  • Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes.
  • Communicate your design work and negotiate future direction with peers, researchers, design leaders, product partners and executives.

Essential qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience as an interaction designer or similar role.
  • A portfolio that showcases relevant design projects and includes your process, design explorations and final work.
  • Able to understand detail and find radically simple solutions that delight users.
  • Experience with Sketch, Figma, Zeplin, Invision or equivalents.
  • Experience partnering with product and developers to deliver great experiences.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Masters degree in a design-related field.
  • Able to work independently, manage uncertainty and switch between discovery and delivery tracks in a single conversation.
  • Experience in visual design, prototyping, user research, motion design, design sprints.
  • Experience designing for small businesses, financial products or with complex information sets.
